Offering Instant Price Quotes Without a Full Design

Last updated

Not every visitor wants to build a full design before they know what something costs. Web2ink's Instant Price Quoter lets customers (or your own staff) get accurate pricing directly on a product page — no designing required.

Why this matters

  • 84% of e-commerce transactions begin with a search, and price is often the deciding factor before someone commits time to designing anything.
  • It gives you a fast way to quote a price over the phone or in person, using the same pricing engine your website uses — no separate spreadsheet or calculator to keep in sync.
  • It reduces abandoned sessions from people who just wanted a ballpark number.

How it works for customers

On any product with pricing configured, customers can select quantity, print process/colors, and any relevant options to get an instant price — without opening the full design tool. This uses the exact same pricing engine described in How Web2ink Calculates a Price, Step by Step, so the number they see matches what they'd pay if they actually placed the order.

Shareable pricing

You can generate a shareable price/product guide to send to customers directly — useful for repeat B2B buyers or anyone who wants pricing in writing before a call.

Price-quote requests (Catalog Plan and quote-based setups)

If you're on the Catalog Plan, or you've configured your site to work as a request-a-quote flow rather than an instant checkout, customers submit a quote request with their specs instead of buying directly. Quote requests come into your admin like an order-in-progress, and you can respond with a formal price-quote PDF generated from the same pricing engine.

Setting it up

Instant pricing works automatically once a product has its price chart and print processes configured (see Setting Up Print Processes, Colors & Design Charges and How Web2ink Calculates a Price, Step by Step) — there's no separate "turn on instant pricing" step for a properly configured product. If a product isn't showing a price, double check its price chart and process assignment first.

Troubleshooting

  • No price shown on a product page — the product's price chart or print process likely isn't fully configured yet.
  • Quote request emails not arriving — check your WooCommerce email settings and the quote-request notification configuration in the Web2ink admin.
