Setting Up Your Own Team Store
Last updated
Organizing merch for a team, school, or group? You can get your own branded mini-store on the shop's site, so members order and pay individually instead of you collecting money and sizes by hand.
Requesting a store
Most shops offer a store signup form — look for a "Start a Store," "Create a Team Store," or similar link on the site. Fill it out with your organization's details. Depending on the shop's process, your store may activate immediately or need their approval first (some shops review new store requests before they go live).
What you'll be able to control
Once your store is set up, you (and anyone you add as a helper — see below) can typically manage:
- Look and branding — apply a theme, set your colors/logo, and write a short tagline for your store's homepage.
- Products — which designs and items are available, and in what colors/sizes.
- Pricing/markup — if your store includes a profit margin (common for fundraiser stores), you set that on top of the shop's base pricing.
- Timing — many group stores support a close date, useful for season- or event-based ordering windows.
- Shipping or pickup — depending on what the shop's platform and your store settings support.
Adding help managing the store
If you don't want to run everything yourself, most shops let you add another person (a co-coach, a fellow team parent, an assistant) as a supervisor on your store, giving them the same day-to-day management access without making them the primary owner.
Group cart and split orders
For some team stores, members can add items to a shared group cart — useful for bulk/roster-style ordering — while still allowing orders to be split so individuals can pay for their own item rather than one person covering the whole team's cost. Whether this is available depends on how the shop has configured your store type; ask them directly if you need this for your group.
Tracking orders and payouts
As the store organizer, you'll have visibility into:
- Every order placed through your store
- Your store's profit/margin, if you set one up
- Reports you can export for your own records (e.g., a roster breakdown by size and name)
Questions about your specific store
Since store setup and policies (pricing, close dates, what's available) are configured by you and hosted by the print shop, reach out to the shop directly for anything platform-specific — they can walk you through the store-owner tools available on their site.
